WAGGIN' TAILS DOG RESCUE — Heartworm Treatment Fund

Heartworm disease is treatable, but at a significant cost. It is a potentially fatal disease in dogs if left untreated. Your donation provides much needed medicine for the dogs in our very own rescue and it may help other dogs in shelters around the state, too. If a shelter has another rescue lined up to pull a dog, but they cannot afford the cost to cover heartworm treatment, we pitch in when we can.

Treatment can cost upwards of $500 per dog. We seem to be seeing a rise in the number of dogs with this disease.

About Heartworm:

Heartworm is a small, thread-like worm that is transmitted from one dog to another via mosquitoes. Treatment involves weeks of discomfort for a dog, while the worms are being killed slowly. There is a risk involved but untreated dogs will eventually die of congestive heart failure. Of course, Heartgard, Revolution, and Sentinel are all good monthly oral preventatives you can give to your dog. It could save his life!

We rely solely on donations to provide these dogs with the medicine they need to get healthy and happy. Please consider donating to help some adoptable cuties like the dogs you see pictured here.

ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX-DEDUCTIBLE! We appreciate your help!
