Who We Are |
WHO WE AREWaggin' Tails Dog Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit rescue group. Our experienced and dedicated volunteers donate their spare time to rescue, rehabilitate, foster, and re-home all breeds of homeless dogs at risk of being euthanized or sold to research from area and rural kill shelters. Our volunteers are just like you; they have careers, families, hobbies, but ultimately each person felt drawn to help better the lives of animals in their own community and beyond. We are supported solely through donations and fund-raising efforts. Our volunteers receive no monetary payment for their activities. Instead, their reward is the knowledge that a dog's life has been saved that otherwise would have been lost. WHAT WE DOWe do not own a formal shelter or kennel. All dogs that are taken in by Waggin' Tails are safe from harm and moved to a foster home where they receive individual attention, medical care, and a place to regain their ability to bond with people, if needed. Our foster home environment allows us to really get to know each and every dog's unique personality, aiding us in finding the best possible home that fits their needs. Each dog will remain with Waggin' Tails until they are adopted into a permanent home. To find out how you could become a foster parent, click here. |

WHY WE ARE MOTIVATED TO HELP DOGSWe are often asked why we spend so much time and effort helping animals, particularly because we do not get paid. It's really quite simple. We believe animals, particularly dogs, add to the quality of our lives and become integral parts of our families. They teach us to live in the moment, to notice and enjoy the little things in life, opening up our hearts and minds. Dogs make us smile! We think there is a home for every dog that comes into our care, and we strive to match each adopter with a dog that fits their lifestyle, and vice-versa. Because of these efforts, we are proud to report that we have a less than a 5% return rate on our dog adoptions. You can't put a price tag on that heartwarming feeling of helping dogs ... and people. If you love dogs and think the world is a better place with them in it, please consider volunteering with us! There really isn't anything better than seeing a once sad, lonely dog move into their new loving new home with a smile on their face and a wagging tail.
